Is it harmful to haul a bike with the rear tire on the ground in neutral?

Removing the master link is far and away the easiest way. I pulled a 500cc Speed Twin behind my 40 hp Beetle this way from Woodland Hills, Ca out to the desert many times. VW never even worked up a sweat...ARH

Not me. I didn't invent the idea. I saw a guy with an older 36 hp Beetle pull a 20 foot centerboarder with bunks for 2 down below right out of the water with out looking stressed at all. So I figured if he could do it, so could I...ARH
