Question Hawk master cylinder sticking

Anyone know how I can get the front brake master cylinder free again it's not coming out anymore to activate the brake light switch. I already pulled the boot off and sprayed lube in it but didn't help.

Is the brake locked on ?

have you tryed losening the lever pivot bolt ?
have you removed the lever to see if the piston returns ?

The lever is not the issue. Inside the master cylinder there's a spring it seems to be weak.

Stretch the spring so it's a bit longer...

If you live near a home depot or lowe's, they have a whole bunch of springs in the hardware aisle. They're in pull out sliding boxes where the nuts and bolts are. I would take your old spring with you, and then go try to find something that's slightly stiffer. Also, make sure that it's stainless steel so it doesn't rust and plug up the important bits. Failing all that, you can just get a longer banjo bolt and put in a pressure switch for the brake light. Let us know how it turns out.

Something I found while working on Master cylinders on snowmobiles it is hard to install the piston. What I do is install the seal wrap the seal with an old photo and secure with a nylon ty strap (I think a playing card would work as well) once the seal is compressed put the assembled piston and seal in the freezer and let it freeze for a half hr. Once frozen work quickly remove ty strap and photo. Usually it will slide into the bore without any effort

Did you change the brake fluid?
