Best Ever Done HAWK 250 Wheelie?
I unfortunately had to sell my HAWK at the beginning of this year, due to engine problems that i didnt want to fix and was wanting to get a bigger bike anyways.
So anyways, A few months before I had the issues i got a ride in January while it was 50 degrees out (Ohio). I did one of the best wheelies I have ever done and I think its the best I have ever seen on a HAWK 250. So figured I'd share the video with you guys so you can see the potential of this bike and maybe even convince someone to make the purchase if they're worried about the people who say these bikes have no power. Check it out! Mods I had in the video: Mikuni Carb w/ Re-jetting 17t Front Sprocket Newer & better chain Dirt/Knobbie Tires Done in 2nd Gear: |

Great wheelie...now you just need a bunch of other guys riding with you, and a couple cop cars trying to pull you over, and you have a hooligan video
![]() Seriously, sad to read your issues following the wheelie leading you to sell it, but unless someone posts a longer wheelie, I am pretty sure you have the longest Hawk wheelie ![]()

Have some long, straight, and mostly deserted roads out here to wheelie down... who wants to lend me their HAWK, I'll provide the camera
![]() Nice "throttle control", short/smooth blips to keep you where you need to be ![]() ![]()

You could probably do a balance wheelie in 5th if you could get the front end up with clutch pop or something. It probably won't power up past 3rd.
I wouldn't trust the frame never mind the Chinese transmission and other vitals.. |

I used to ride them pretty far on our little Hensim 150 DB's.
Take special note of the custom safety equipment.

Hey guys, sorry, i had forgotten that i posted this lol. But ya its sucks i had to let her go. But i now have a KTM 400 exc dual sport. AND I LOVE IT. For some reason the HAWK was the easiest bike to wheelie for me. I got really good really fast on that bike. The power my KTM has is insane and lifts you up so fast its hard to find the balance without feeling like its going to lift like a rocket and fly your ass off it
![]() ![]() Also i dont know that it would be possible to get the HAWK up in 3rd. 2nd was pretty hard and third i never could get much lift over and inch or so. You'd have to be pretty damn strong to pick up most of the entire bike to enough of a balance point. |

Ditto on the congrats. That's a serious jump in hardware lol.
I have never personally tried to wheelie my Hawk, although I have got the wheel to come up a tiny bit when I try. I just have to shift my big heavy but back in the seat and give it a little tug. My VFR on the other hand, I have wheelied it entirely on accident in first and second gear. Power on wheelies and launch wheelies tend to open your eyes when you don't expect them. ![]() You should post up some pictures of your KTM. ![]()

Thanks guys! The story on how I got my KTM is pretty interesting; when my hawk died I had recently bought a little 125cc pit bike to have fun on and figure I didnt need another dirt bike. So I went out looking to buy a sport/street bike. I got a hold of a super clean 2005 Suzuki sv650 with 5,000 miles on it for damn near dirt cheap. And when I say dirt cheap i mean I paid a few hundred dollars more for it than I did the HAWK 250. So i rode the sv650 for the summer & i came to find out im not much of a "Street Only" rider, and I got bored of the thing pretty quick compared to the fun I had on a cheap dual sport. Plus going 130mph, all the time, isnt really my thing. Dont get me wrong, those sport bikes are a blast and I wish I could afford, and have the space, to have all different kinds of bikes. But when it came down to it I wanted that "Dual Sport Life" back. There's just something about cruising the streets and then just pulling off and ripping it off-road. So i went out looking to trade the sv650 for a dirt bike i could turn street legal or a dual sport ready for the streets. I got in touch with this kid who wanted to trade his 2006 KTM 400exc and we made the deal. So really I got the KTM for not much more than the HAWK. Though I did have to put a lot of money into it for things such as a street legal kit, kick stand, tires, oil changes ect. And the plastics are pretty beat up (from the prev owner) so after the holidays I plan to get new plastics and the thing should be looking brand new and ill post some picture of it then. For now: This is the sv650: |
