Hawk 250 LED Headlight Replacement
I got around to installing and documenting an LED install today. The bulb I used came from Amazon for $60. And it worked out pretty well.
I documented the entire install step-by-step on my blog here. For those of you who only need the CLIFF notes, here goes. The replacement LED comes with a power adapter, and you basically plug the assembly into the stock harness. Because the LED has a big cooling fan on it, you need to remove the mounting plate from it, and secure it to the bike with the stock retainer piece. Then you slip the LED into the hole and turn it to lock it in place. Overall, I'm pleased. If anyone has any questions let me know and I'll clarify.

An led light is one of the best mods for the Hawk, I put one in mine the day it was delivered they're awesome & super easy to install even with the bulky cooling fan I also put 194 led bulbs in the cluster. I prefer these led headlights over Hid's any day (good job looks great)!.

For the ones in the cluster, do you mean something like this?
http://amzn.to/1qAgcZW I guess I could do that just for fun. Though I'm waiting on one of those new fancy digital clusters that are all the rage these days... ;-)

very cool mod. My STORM does not have the same light, so I would have to figure something else out. I think its an H2 and I am sure there is an LED light out there somewhere for it.

Hi, This looks like a good upgrade. In your blog I saw that you said "the High and Low beams can be activated simultaneously." How exactly would you activate both at the same time?
Thanks |

Its how the bulb works. Many hi/lo led headlights leave the low beam on when the high beam is activated. Nothing fancy.
