Secondly , unless he has a problem like the clutch springs all fell out ,etc and has a good bit of mechanical experience with motorcycles, looking at a clutch work ( or not work ) when you dont know anything about what it " should" look like in there , may or may not be helpful.

Unless he just stumbles across some simple thing to correct this that has caused it, looks like he is either going to be looking at getting hooked for paying return shipping ( ouch , not cheap ) to send it back for total replacement, or waiting on a replacement clutch assembly assuming that is the issue and having to try to replace it himself which his mechanical ability may or may not facilitate , and we all know most Shops wont even pee on a Chinese bike, let alone work on one. ,and either scenario is not what you should look for when buying a brand new motorcycle.

Maybe Venoms Tech Dept. can get him fixed up , I hope so .I've never seen a report of this particular issue on the Forums here so I'm convinced it's a really rare anomaly but that doesnt help much when it is you the anomaly is happening to, i mean he has a new motorcycle that wont move, thats gotta be a real pisser.
Yeah. Thinking about it bit more you are absolutely right, tearing into the internals would not be a good idea at this early stage, I to purchased from Venom and all though I had a different issue., they "did not" blow me off and leave me hanging. I hope all works out ok so there is another satisfied Venom customer.

Yep,my Cb500f doesn’t use or recommend full synthetic.I just use the Pro Honda oil that’s recommended in the service manual. It doesn’t say not to use synthetic, but it doesn’t say use it either,so I just stick with the recommendations for this bike anyway.

@Whisky Yeah man i bought my Vader from Venom and I had shipping complications ( it arrived in fine shape mostly , it just took 3 weeks to get here, the Shipping agent " lost it" ) but they did not blow me off , either. I am fairly confident they will make this right, but at the same time he needs to cover all his bases like taking photo evidence etc and documenting everything he tries or has tried ,thats why i was worrying about him "going in there" before he gets Venom up to date .I don't think they would do a "Manny" on him but it's always best to err on the side of caution .I am very happy with my Vader and it has been reliable, durable, and an absolute blast to both ride as well as modify. , and it also had the side benefit of allowing me to connect with some pretty cool Grom Clone people here on the chinariders forums,,,,like you haha !

Be cool bro !

im not going to touch anything internally until i hear back from Venom. I paid $1800 for a piece of metal that makes noise but doesn't move lol. Another problem i have it that when i lock the handle bars all the way to the right it will rev the motor up. not sure if that's because i may not have the handlebars straightened enough on the clamps. Im not looking forward to replacing the whole face fairing/speedo. but there is a gap in the left fairing next to the headlight so hopefully it didn't bend anything underneath.

It's to bad these shipping companies don't give a shit about their freight. 20 yrs ago there was so much better service.

Ah HA ! Now we are getting somewhere .That revving up when you turn the handlebars to the right means that cable is misrouted and/or something is pinching the hell out of it ,that is going to have to be traced down and fixed. Now, by that same token, on my Vader the throttle cable and clutch cable make an "X" ,your clutch lever is on the left , where it goes into the engine is on the right, you follow me? By the same token your gas is on the right , the Vader carb, while the cable goes into the top, sits to the leftish side of the engine / bike. Didnt you mention the gauge cluster / headlight housing being somewhat damaged, out of alignment, etc? I' bet something is obstructing one or both of those cables and causing all of this and in any case you need to get the throttle cable free /rerouted, it should not cause the engine to rev when turned to the right, the headlight housing only has 4 bolts , its super easy to remove, i think i would do that and see if i could trace first the throttle cable and then the clutch cable and see if they are pinched, smashed, or where they are misrouted ,there are a couple wire frame cable routers there on the front end behind the headlight housing that if bent out of shape/ smashed could cause issues like you are having , if the clutch cable is smashed /pinched it may look like its moving enough , but it wont move enough to work right. Your call , but i bet thats what it is, especially since you mentioned that "turn right and it revs" condition.

I don't understand how it could have been upside down? Wasn't the bike wire tied to a pallet?

Yes it was wire tied down. The whole crate was upside down. He took it off the truck and I could see the two wheels.

-Not sure who your carrier was, down where i live thats the kind of stunt most associated with SAIA (upside down freight or freight that looks like a tank ran over it )

I don't blame you a bit for wanting to outright exchange it ,I'm just afraid they will try to stick you with the Return Freight charge(s) etc., and was trying to offer some advice as to tracking down the issues you are having to correct them.

I really do hope it all works out for you , I don't want this to kill your enthusiasm for owning a Grom clone, they are super fun to ride and I'm sure you will enjoy it when you actually get to get on one that does what it's supposed to do .

Grin

Finally got mostly everything figured out, venom is shipping me a new speedo plus every fairing on the front end. The clutch is working perfect, the only problem I’m having now is gas leaking from somewhere. It’s not a lot and only happens after I ride. Almost forgot.. the axles were WAY under tight and was causing vibrations and noises.

I’m glad to hear that Venom Motorsports is taking care of you. They should all be like that! Unfortunately, most are not! I’ve had my Hellcat for almost a month and it’s still in the shipping crate, waiting for the dealership to help me.

Keep us posted on your progress!

Enjoy the Ride!

The issue with buying bargain priced bikes is that we, the consumer, are doing the assembly/pdi and cutting out the middleman. The other problem is that these bikes are no longer bargains...
