Automatic Chain Tensioner

Just wondering if this is more of a wishful novelty thing or not.

I am running one right now. So far I have put about 250 miles on it and it is holding up ok. The way the bearing for the roller is retained leaves a bit to be desired since it just free floats on the shaft and is retained with a cotter pin, but it works. If the tensioner itself holds up ok I am going to try and come up with a better shaft and bearing retention solution for it.

Otherwise, it's kind of nice to have if you want to keep your chain on the loose side. Since my rear shock is a bit longer than stock and has more travel, I run my chain a bit looser than it would be at spec. This helps keep it from whipping around or potentially coming off the sprocket if I unload the rear with the tire turning.

I run one of these on my stunt build Vader 125 Grom Clone ,super easy installation and it does the job. ,I haven't encountered any issues running it at max 60mph speeds on the street, I did replace the roller that the chain sits on with a better quality one with better bearings I found on EBay for about $5 or $6.

Super good at controlling chain slap between chain adjustments, super beneficial for those that choose to run the stock chinese chain until it wears out since they stretch so much so fast ,and still good even if and after you upgrade the chain , I'd recommend one to anyone considering it , i mean it's only 15 bucks on EBay, what's not to love?
