Engine swap advice
So I recently picked up a 2013 Suzuki rmz450 with a blown engine in trade for some labor on a job, and was wondering if anyone here had tried to put a China engine into one of these?
I have been looking at the water cooled 250 engine kit pitster/gpx has for sale, but i won't be starting anything real soon as I'm only 3 weeks out of shoulder surgery and won't even be able to start physical therapy for a couple more weeks. On the good side that gives me plenty of time to come up with a good plan. Soo... advice? Experience? I'll take what you can give. Thanks! |

I think I'd be inclined to rebuild the Suzuki engine.

Yeah when I can I will get it pulled apart and see what it will take to get it rebuilt and go from there.
I guess I was just curious to know if anyone had tried putting in a china engine and how it worked out. If the Suzuki engine will cost to much to rebuild I may still try a China engine swap and see how it goes. |

I’d suggest rebuild the original
The NC250 isn’t anywhere near as powerful as you might like n will cause issues to fit Kinda expensive in the USA as well |

Rebuild the Zuk
Of topic I put a Zong 250 air cooled into a 05 Honda 450X that didn't have a motor. Only reason is I had both already and Honda motors ate valves all the time in those years. Damn thing fit like a glove with minimal issues. Made a great trail bike. The Zong engines lack power so I geared it down to 13/53 and it work out well. |

450
Rebuild the 450, China vs RmZ is night and day, china 230cc awesome reliability but quarter of the power, depends on type of riding aswell,
I'm about to try 230cc in a crf chasis, it slots in ok, but have to see if rear mount top of swing arm lines up |
