Gear Indicator Issue

Any easy fix/reason why I would see a 2 in the gear indicator when I am in neutral? I get both a 2 and a neutral light.

Also, as I shift through the gears from first to fifth (shifts easily) I see 1,2,2,4,8 not 1,2,3,4,5

Also my digital speedometer is off by about 5 mph. It indicates 5 more than I am actually traveling. Can it be calibrated?

Ha! I agree, we don’t need them. I have ridden for years and never used one. Unfortunately, my OCD brains says that if I have it on the bike, it needs to work right. Probably not a good mental condition when owning one of these bikes.

My Storm doesn't have a gear indicator, but it does have a neutral light.
However, the neutral light is lit up whether the bike's in neutral or not.
Kind of annoying.

The Brozz I’ve heard is about 10% off reading higher
Common.
Only my units have calibration built into them that I know of as a direct fitment unit
Check around gear switch etc or your led light thing is faulty
The wires are all earths and each is an earth to denote which number should light up

Speedo is off a little, less at slow speeds more at top speeds, you get use to it after a while.
Just curious does the gear indicator show 8,4,2,2,1 when you down shift and are these numbers consistent every time you ride?
I think I would talk with Jeffrey at Peace about it and see if he is willing to send out parts if you need to shoot the parts cannon at it, it is brand new after all. Mine has 2300 miles on it and the gear indicator still works perfectly.

Sounds like the resisters on led board are faulty
You’d only need the led part that comes out with 2 screws

Well this morning on the way to work it functioned perfectly... for about 3 minutes, then went back to 1,2,2,4,8 gear numbers. I think something is loose. There isn't really anything to see under the sprocket cover, just some wires going into the engine.

Yes it is very consistent except for a few minutes this morning it worked perfectly with correct numbers. Other than that it is very consistent up and down the gear range with 1,2,2,4,8.

I will talk to Jeffrey today and see what he thinks.

I took my sprocket cover off yesterday to see if the red/green wire looked pinched, and that wire and a bigger bundle of wires looked pinched/smashed down by the cover, but there's not enough slack in the wires to move them out of the way.

Jeffrey, no I didn’t turn the key to check, didn’t think anything had changed, but I’ll check it this afternoon if I get the new carb put on.

I took a look at the indicator sensor today. I found that the cable was partially smashed flat by the sprocket cover. I could see a few strands of copper in the broken cable jacketing. I am guessing that is the issue. I will replace it, does anyone have a link to a video or pictures on how to swap one of these out? If not I will just wing it.

10 min job "just do it"

Just repair wires with tape or better - so easy
