Electric vs. Gas? Seeking Recommendations
I'm looking to get a small (about 50cc) dirt bike for my 7 y/o for his birthday. At first I was thinking of getting something like a SSR SX50. However, many of the reviews online are pretty mixed. Some people report that it breaks really easy and then they spend more time trying to fix it than riding it.
Then I came across electric dirt bikes. Tao Tao makes one. I found one from this company called MotoTec. And, Razor even makes a few too. Does anyone have any experience with the electric kid's dirt bikes? Any recommendations of gas bikes that are reliable? |

They aren't bad. Not as fast as a 50, no gears so he won't learn about shifting though. They are normally less maintenance, just charge and go. You can hop them up too, throw some lithium batteries and a 1500w motor/controller and it will rip lol. You can normally find the razor ones dirt cheap on fb marketplace or craigslist with bad batteries or a missing charger, but cheap fixes. The batteries are just 7-9ah SLA's.
