The GY-7 also has a little brother called the XY150GY-B or ç™½èœ (cabbage)
One of my coworkers here in China also decided to ride a Shineray during his time in China. His bike arrived from the factory in Chongqing today. This bike is called the Shineray XY150GY-B and is basically a clone of a 1982 Honda XL185, but with some added racks, a front disc brake and boxed steel swing arm. This bike was also fitted with the same 200cc engine as my GY-7. The bike is much lighter than my XY200GY-7 and therefore is a lot quicker. It is also shorter and it seems much more nimble than the big GY-7. It seems like a great bike. I hope he enjoys it. |

The Honda XL185 clone was /is the most produced dual sport bike in China. Coming in 125,150,200, 250 configurations. This model of bike in China is produced by no less than 4 different factories. Yes the tank is metal.
I also thought it would be good for the wife to ride, but she still wants a GY-7 Mike |

I like these bikes a lot.
I think they'll carve out a niche market, just like NATO-spec Ural Patrols do. The twin shocks are especially cool, I think, because there are junkyards all across North America that you can pick up UJM shocks that could fit on here. It'd be a lot easier to hook up aftermarket dual spring shocks than to replace my Lifan's monoshock. If I buy another Chinese bike somday, this'll probably be it - as long as it makes it to Canada. |

Actually, you can beat it. You can beat on it pretty hard, if the bike won't start. Then you can suction the dents back out.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like rust? 8O :P
Not a problem new, but certainly a potential problem used.

I guess it give and take, Both plastic and metal have advantages..I just prefer a metal tank....You can get away with more odd fixes if things happen to it.
