Probably, but generally the people that get employed by Chinese bike dealerships are generally flunkies.

Probably a safe assumption!

Nice to see some discussion here about this bike. I was coming back to say I'd got mine registered here in Louisiana... lol It was a long process though.

Originally I got the MCO blank, Orion didn't fill in their own dealer info or mine. They said I could mail it back to them and they'd fix it. I did, and the postal service lost it along the way... lol Thankfully I'd shipped it as a package with tracking to be safe. They opened a claim and eventually found it and delivered it to Orion. About a week later they mailed it back, and I headed to the OMV. The first office I went to said the MCO was a "fake" and not original, and couldn't do anything with it. I called Orion and they said that's how they come from the factory in China, to explain that to the OMV, and have them call Orion if they needed to verify. I went to a different OMV office in another town who said the same thing, looked fake, like a copy... lol I explained what was going on and they took it, didn't need to call Orion. $254 later for taxes, title, registration, and plate fees including a penalty and interest since it had been so long since the purchase date, I had a plate... I have another bike insured with Progressive, and added this on the same policy. Minimum coverage from now until October when the policy renews was $32.

On to the bike itself... lol I got mine unassembled, I knew I'd be going over it anyway. There were several loose bolts, wires and cables that needed to be routed properly, etc. I had loose spokes in both wheels, and neither wheel was true. A little time with a spoke wrench fixed that and I haven't had any problems yet. (I've got 130 miles or so on it so far) I don't remember what size the front sprocket is, but the rear is a 43T stock. I dropped down to a 38T, and picked up about 5mph on the top end, but the engine was lugging in the top of 5th. I went back up to a 40T and the engine is happier, and I didn't lose any speed. Speedo indicates 70mph flat on with nothing left, but GPS says 65-66. It will cruise OK at 55 or so, I wouldn't try to push it any more though. The rear sprocket is standard KTM. I'll put links below to parts I've used so far.

I also changed all the decals on the bike. I bought a graphics kit on closeout (ebay) for $30 shipped, meant for full size '13-'15 KTM bikes, and it fits perfect. The lower for guards are different, but everything else is good. I think it looks better than what came on it... lol

I also cut the "tail" off the back and 3D printed a little bracket to fit a standard MC plate just below the brake/tail light. I like it MUCH better than that stock thing.

Someone mentioned the turn signals. The rear ones stopped working on mine, tapping on them would get them working again. I popped the lens/cover off one and broke it in the process, but found that the bulbs are kind of jammed in there and don't really fit. I replaced them with some cheap LED ones off eBay, $9 for 4. I was happy to see the flasher on the bike is ready to go with LEDs, no need to change it. This is the first bike I've had that came ready for LEDs... lol

For mirrors, I wanted something that would let me see "good enough" and pass inspection, but not get broken off riding in the woods. I got some cheap bar end mirrors and clamped them onto the bars instead of using the piece that fits into the end of the bars. I had to file the gap wider on the clamps to let the "stem" hand straight down, but they work great!

Here's some links to parts I used:

Mirrors - https://ebay.to/36RL0KW
Turn Signals - https://ebay.to/2RMQ5Qs
38T Sprocket - https://ebay.to/3b2xbNc
40T Sprocket - https://ebay.to/2vDmJeI
Graphics - https://ebay.to/2H6zAc0

Here's some other cheap graphics too, $15-$50 instead of the usual $130+ I've seen at some places. https://ebay.to/379x3bB - https://ebay.to/2vZEnJX - https://ebay.to/2SqG9vc

There was some talk about it in the thread at Thumpertalk. The early bikes cames with "Fast Ace" branded front forks and rear shock. The currents ones come with KKE parts instead, which apparently is a brand owned by Fast Ace, and likely the same or similar to the first ones. I don't know if anyone makes parts for them though. They're a Chinese company without much info on their site, and they didn't respond when I emailed them asking for some info... lol

If they're FastAce, they're similar to Showa open chamber mx forks.

My new bike was delivered yesterday, it looks great! Now the work begins! The performance carb was missing, but I contacted Orion and they are sending it right out to me, they are pretty cool to deal with on the phone.

So, I've had the Orion for a few days now and have been working on it almost every day. I tightened the spokes, they were all over the place with tension. I loctited just about every bolt on the bike, adjusted the chain, went in 3 full turns on the shock preload ring, and set all the suspension clickers at 5 clicks out from full for a baseline.

I also removed the smog pump and blocked off the EGR port in the head. I'm in the process of cutting open the header pipe to remove the catalytic converter, and I replaced the kickstarter with one that actually works!

I'm getting there, by the time spring gets here it should be ready to go! It's 6 degrees outside right now in Southern Maine though...

Everyone that owns this bike should subscribe to the RXB group on Facebook, some great guys and great info there!

I took my bike out yesterday while it was a bit warmer. (low 60s!) The more I ride it the more I like it... lol I rode some back roads, some dirt and some paved, a bit of highway running 60+ with the traffic, through town to get some gas, and on the way home I ran over something in the road that stuck in the rear tire and punctured the tube. It made a worrisome sound when the tire tried to bring it around through the swingarm... lol I think it was a block of wood with a nail in it or something, I didn't go back to see. It just put a little gouge/scratch in the plastic mudflap in front of the rear tire, besides the flat. I called for a truck/ramp to come load it up, brought it home and pulled the tube out, patched it, and rode into town again... On the way back the second time, I was stopped by a state game warden, once he saw the plate though he told me to have a nice day, thought he'd caught a "dirt bike" on the road. Fun day!
