Wild Fire 200?

Guy locally is selling a Wildfire 200. Says its a 2010 or later only 50 miles(a little concerning to me). I get the motor is a CG200, what about the rest of it? Will Hawk/Brozz parts be compatible?

I am fairly certain this bike is a rebadged Lifan GY200-2 model. Wildfire had Lifan OEM many bikes, and they both got in trouble with the EPA for some reasons and/or other. The GY200-2 was never EPA/DOT certified unlike the very popular Lifan GY200-5 model. The GY200-2 general shape was a very common design (unlike the GY-5 which was quite unique and 'fresh') and was very similar across multiple brands such as Shineray, Zongshen (and bikes Zongshen was an OEM for), as well as bikes that Lifan was the OEM for, such as HiBird. Sorry for the trip down memory lane, but you would have to find similar bikes from the era to get direct replacement parts for it. But that was/is part of the fun of Chinese motorcycles in Chinariders old days: guessing which company in China was churning out all these bastard sons that were then relabeled and made into numerous 'brands' and sold on Ebay. Our collective minds were probably a little bit off...it was fairly easy to become a brand; you rented a place and bought all your parts from suppliers, slapped a bike together, put it through EPA testing, and now you are a 'brand'. Funny enough, many scooter brands do just this nowadays. That is why many of them look nearly identical, not to mention Znen is the OEM for a few brands as well.

It probably looks a lot like my XMoto. It was the basic old school GY2 China bike.

Yeah pretty much, is it pretty easy to get stuff for? He only wants $500 for it

To be honest, I might pay $500 if it's running well and has all the plastics. Engines are easily replaceable but not sure on the other parts. I am guessing wheels are interchangeable. Back then, many of us bought aftermarket rear sprockets for '1980 Honda XL185' and since it seems most current wheels use old Honda sprockets from the aftermarket, wheels should be compatible with modern Chinese dual-sports. Plastics are probably the only thing that might be an issue to find, and those are just for looks. Heck, you might be able to find plastics from modern ones that fit?!

See if you can scoop it for half that. Chances are, the original owner only paid $800 brand new.

What Weld ^^ said .A lot of these bikes were about $800.00 when new ,so I wouldn’t pay anything close to that now for a used one or even a new old stock one .There is a fairly recent thread around here ,with brand new bikes for under $1000.00 ,I would buy that before spending $500 on an old model nobody knows anything about .

Holy crap! That's crazy. I'm surprised they weren't more popular back then.

Do it. That's cheaper than a crate motor.

Yup ,for $300 you should be fine .You might have an issue plating the bike if that matters to you

Zakkly! Just for a spare motor that's a steel. If the rest of the bike is crap, drop it in a go cart!
