No Lifan DS's on eBay???

I just got done my daily China Bike surfing and niticed there is not a single new Lifan DS for sale on eBay. There are usually half a dozen or more dealers peddling them on eBay. I wonder what is up? There are still Hi Birds, Roketas, etc, but NO Lifans.

Well, as soon as competition goes down, price is sure to go up and I am afraid it's gonna cut their own throat. The Lifan is a nice bike, but no better then my Roketa, or a Hi Bird, or a Viva. If AL dealers are the only place to get one, and at inflated prices, I am not so sure that's gonna fly.

I don't own a Lifan but I have seen them at a dealership near my house. IMO there is nothing that sets them apart quality wise.I don't understand how AL is going to do it.But you put enough money into marketing who knows.

If they decide to start jacking the prices up without offering a better bigger bike...They will not make it long. Stage two could go down in flames.

It's not going to fly, bank on it!
I have an AL dealer close to my house... how does $2600 for a GY-5 sound?
Then there was the $55 quote for front brake pads...
Not just NO, but H377 NO! If AL hadn't been allowing Motoextreme to drop ship when I bought my bike, I would have bought a Roketa for $1000 and never looked back.
But, I guess this is what AL wants. It just ticks me off because I bet they are not paying $500 per bike (profit is one thing, rape is another!). They are decent bikes, but no way are they worth nearly three grand!

I've noticed a decrease in them as well.

said it before and I'll say it again.

A.L. has just made it very easy for THEIR competitors now that they closed the doors on the GREY market bikes.

If A.L. was having a hard time with the greys then just think what it was doing to THEIR competitors and now they can breath a little and hopefully expand.
A.L. isnt all that china has to offer as far as motorcycles they are just connected to a huge mother company but there are other manufacturers that will benefit from what A.L. and C.L. have agreed to do.

It will be rough but I think we will see some good things come out of it.I'd like to see A.L. get slapped down to where they should be for a while and I'd like to see UM grow but thats just me.(UM has problems also)

Yea.. I think I just got riped on a "GREY BIKE" Now according to AL it's "worthless" and I cannot get plates.. I made a post in REG section but its not looking good. 8O The worst part is I had no idea it was a "grey bike" I did not even know they existed until reading it on here and talking to AL. My bike is not even broke in yet and it looks like it will never be.. I am unable to get in touch with Frontier Imports and im starting to think I know why

Where I come from a Lifan is worth almost $3000, they are good bikes, I mean Shimano bikes can cost way more than A China bike but I guess depending on who you ask, WTF.....A 0cc Shimano for $1900 or my Huansong 200cc for $900 USD...The China bikes are worth more than alot of us are paying for them, I think, its too bad they can be a biotch in the parts and registration etc..area!

After a few months I expect the phones at A.L. to get very quiet(except parts requests) since the greys will be gone and not many people will be buying A.L.'s.

The guys sitting around A.L. will be talking about the good old days when they were busy running off the people asking for parts for their non-A.L. bikes and how to get them registered and such.

I do wonder just what if any demand there will be for the chinese bikes from the most general/casual of bike purchasers.
Will they just look else where or will they demand the american lifan products?

I mean if these bikes werent thrown in front of us most everywhere would we have given them a second look?

I plan to just sit back and watch the antics for a while and if a chinese 300-450cc dual-sport shows up before I get my hands on a drz400s then they have a chance of selling me one.(if he price is right)

I'm in the same boat, more or less. I still need a larger DS, and I'll keep my eye on the China stuff to see what's available, but I don't really foresee them meeting my needs.

On the positive side, I'm wondering....if this results in higher prices for the current products, how will the KBB value look for my 2008 GY5 when it's added to the list? The 07 (latest year listed) was $1350 last I looked.
