You could always try a 280mm shock. One member here runs a 290mm shock and has reported no issues, so there is a chance it may work out just fine.

Hi Dan what is the rating on a stock rear spring and what would you suggest for someone who has the stock swing arm on and weighs north of 200lb?

Thanks in advance.

The stock spring is a half unknown. The heaviest rate is 1200lb/in, but it is a dual rate spring and the primary rate is rather soft in comparison. The only advantage of the shock I installed is that it is a single rate 1200lb spring, which is a good rate for heavier guys like us. The bigger advantage is that the spring preload is adjustable, something that the stock shock lacks, and honestly if the factory shock had preload adjustment I would not have changed it out.

As far as changing out the rear shock, there are several options. I went with the KEOGHS brand adjustable shock found on Aliexpress. They have gone up in price about 20 bucks since I bought mine, but mine has been great so far. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3281...7%237564%23639

If I were to make a suggestion it would be to favor the shorter shock. Stock is 320mm center to center, so if you had to choose, I would suggest 310-315mm. That would make for a 1/2 to 1" drop in total ride height out back. I ordered what I thought was a 320mm, but it ended up being a 325mm which raised the back half an inch.
