One other thing that surprised me at start up was smoke coming off the exhaust pipe in front of the cylinder head. Is this normal for a first start up?
Does this let me know I have another problem? Thanks for the help on this! |

Totally normal. It's just burning off the paint on the first start up.

Update! My charger made me believe the battery was charged.I got a new Schumacher trickle charger and it took 7 hours at 1.5 ampes to get a full charge. Started right up! Running good. Yes, I dumped the Wok Oil before my fist start up but put in auto 10w 40. I dumped that and now I have wet clutch 10w 40 non synthetic in it. With all I have read only here talks about the wet clutch oil. I will put in synthetic after the break in. I changed spark plug after fist start up to a NGK 7162 DR8EA and have two inch wheel spacers and swapped the rear tires. Thanks Whygostock.com. Looks like it should to me! I am very happy this morning. I will try to post pictures. I have been very nervous about this but having you all help me makes it so much better. Thank you so much!

Vee, Did you add wheel spacers; what exactly did you do to get the wider rear stance? If spacers, what's the hub size you use? Thanks! |

Joe, 2 Inch spacers and swapped the rear wheels. Valve is now on the inside but still easy to get to it to fill the tire with air. Even though I like the way this looks, It is much better riding down a cotton row to stay off the stalks. They could punter a tire if you hit a good hard one with a sharp point. Also notice I removed the front "dining room table" off the front rack. Not liking that so much.
