Mods done (for now)
Here's my thumper put back together. Ebay exhaust, new sealed battery, Mikuni clone, new petcock, LED turn signals. Upgraded solonoid and cables, NGK plug.
Tomorrow will be the trial run after all the repairs/upgrades...
