Recent upgrades to my Bashan Storm 250
Hey Everyone. I've really gotten a LOT of great info from the forum. I thought I'd post some info about my Bashan Storm upgrades that might save some people a few searches.
Rear sprocket: JT Sprockets Steel Rear Sprocket 42T 428 Pitch JTR269.42 This is a great upgrade. 42 tooth gets me cruising at highway speeds but not losing pep for off-road riding. The only installation note is that the grooves on the sprocket go on the inside so the bolts can fit into them. I removed a link on the chain as well. Tires: I just installed the Shinko 244 today! I'm excited to get them off the road. Front tire: Shinko 244 Series Dual Sport Tire 2.75-19 Front/Rear SR244 2.75-19 Rear tire: Shinko 244 Series Dual Sport Tire 4.60-17 68S Front/Rear 87-4766 They fit on the stock Bashan rims and mounted up reasonably easily. Seem to be balanced well. Headlight: "EverBrightt BA20D Motorcycle Headlights Lamp 3 COB 18W LED Bulbs High Low Beam White" on Amazon for $13. It installs into the stock socket. It's brighter and a lot whiter. I like it so far. There are some reviews that claim a short lifespan. I put my stock bulb in the took kit compartment just in case. I'll update this post if it doesn't last too long. Thanks everyone! Last edited by Gabet0wn; 06-01-2020 at 10:47 AM. |

Thanks Megadan! You contribute a lot of good info on the this forum. I've gotten a lot of this info from your posts. Especially for the rear sprocket. That was a great upgrade that made the bike a lot more versatile. Thank you!

Hi Bashan Storm users,
I got one for an amazing price in January. Since I use mine only for camping trips, mostly street riding and not much off road, at 40 miles I have to shift to the 5th. and it is crazy reving at 65-70miles. Since there is already the biggest front sprocket (17) factory installed, I just mounted a 40 in the back. Let's see how it turns out. I keep you posted. Updated so far: LED headlight, stronger chain, Oil change with Rotella T4, new brakefluid, new spark plug, put a charger cable to the battery for an tender charger. |
