Hello fellow Floridian, my X-pect has same noise if you' re referring to the gurgle (for lack of a better term). Sounds like intake noise that resonates at different levels at various rpms. Maybe the noise is even amplified inside the air filter box. Where about in FL are you? I'm in West Palm Beach

Look at the last post in this thread and see if you can move the tube in your tank.

Ohh that noise... higher pitch fast vibration. Had that one too, and read replies here about tube inside the gas tank. Took a long screwdriver to move it gently to the left, its slightly back from the filler neck on the left side. Got rid of the noise

ya I have the same noise, drives me nuts,You are right that it is only heard under load at higher rpm, ALMOST KILLED MYSELF TRYING DRIVE AND LOCATE, not good.Engine runs smooth, maybe in the gearbox. If anyone can run one of theses on a lift might be able to find it.Lets all keep on it, until together, we rid our society of this scourge! Or give up and accept it.

I havent had time to address this on mine yet, but I will give it my full attention this weekend. My next step I was thinking of trying was lifting tank and placing foam tightly under tank to see if it deadens or changes the sound. this I think could at least confirm or rule out the tank as the source.

I suspect chain tension is the problem. Your chain is slapping something when you are under load at specific RPM. it could be inside the front sprocket case or along the drive line.
Chain tension changes with load and speed and varies constantly while in operation.
