Tbr7 overcharging battery

As the title states, my tbr7 is over charging the battery. I replaced the voltage regulator/ rectifier and it’s still over charging. I got the regulator off amazon and was happy that it literally just plugged right in. It’s putting 16v to the battery and climbing. Does anyone know what the typical stator a/c output is? I have also verified the regulator/rectifier and battery grounds and they are good. Any other thoughts on this are graciously accepted

What kind of regulator did you put on it? How did you verify that it was good?

I didn’t verify if it was good. I assumed it was good because it was brand new purchased from amazon, still in the original unopened package. I know, I know, that’s no guarantee, but that’s what I have to go on.

What's the expected output at a specific RPM?

From my research online, the voltage should not exceed 14.8 at any rpm. I’ve had from 16v and up to 20v measured at the battery.

You may have gotten a faulty regulator.

Have you tested the volt meter on another charging system, so that you know it's reading accurately?

Good point. I haven’t. But what started this was my original battery went bad. So I replaced it and started the troubleshooting process. But still a good point. I will check that tonight when I get home.
