It's probably oil from the crankcase vent. Clean it out and check the oil level. It might be overfilled.

I recall a TBR7 having that happen several months ago. I think that one thing we have to do, including with the shipping oil, is to let the bike run for several minutes to get the oil nice and warm, so more of it flows out. Also, since we generally cannot get rid of all the old oil, keep an eye on refilling level. In other words, once you drain out all the old oil, don't just dump an entire quart back in because there might be too much residual oil.

could ,I caused this problem, by opening the gas cap and checking the level of fuel ,to make sure my fuel gauge was correct. did it affect the air pressure in the engine for the blow by into the air box? It,s never this before.

I've found oil in my airbox many times. I just soak it up with a rag every time I change my oil. No big deal.
During the coarse of riding, oil is of coarse going to slosh around the crankcase, sometimes a bit gets into the vent line and into the airbox regardless of a properly maintained oil level. Just clean it out once in a while otherwise it can get aspirated into the carb and foul the plug.

No.

It's just from being over-filled.

Apparently a known issue for TBR7 owners...

Have been told nothing to worry about, soak it up once every few months and move on.

Glad i found this post as its the exact reason i joined the forum, provided some sweet relief. I believe the PCV valve that comes on these has little to no restriction causing oil to just flow into the air box. I am swapping the engine into a Go Kart and will install a catch can as the air box will not be used.

It's from putting too much oil in. No more than 1l of oil is necessary!!!

Just vent it to the ground or atmosphere. It should be vapor only, not liquid oil. (check local laws and make sure this is legal)
