2021 TBR7 forks
Hi all ,I have a 2021 TBR7 and before I rode the bike I wanted to change all fluids to better quality and check there capacities.
The attached picture shows the fork spring spacer and fluid volume I pulled out of fork. The spring is 7/8 diameter and 18'' 1/8 long the spacer is 7'' long. I read on the board that there is a 15mm spacer on top of springs but mine has a 7'' spacer. Is Tao getting cheap and using a shorter spring that is requiring a longer spacer?[IMG] [/IMG] |

Also here is a pic of the volume of fork oil I pulled out. 5oz (147ml)
I added 7oz (207ml) of 15w oil because I am a large rider.[IMG][/IMG] |

That does seem a little short but I wouldn't worry about it. Some after market spring companies use short springs with long spacers (I've bought Sonic brand for a couple bikes and they are pretty short). In fact I'll bet if you measure the inside and outside diameters, and overall length and contact Sonic with your weight and riding style they'll ship you out some springs pretty cheap

These bikes are made as cheap as they can for the money ,nothing is top of the line , if they can save a dollar on a cheaper shock that’s what your getting ,should be no surprise that things are changing with the components .
