Bigger gas tank?

Hello all,

have any of you mounted a bigger gas tank on a Hawk or Brozz 250? Any suggestions? (Nodak = lots of wide open spaces, few people, fewer gas stations)

For purely aesthetic reasons, I'd love to see what tanks could be installed on the Hawk 250 or DLX... I don't like the look of it on mine right now as I removed the plastics (they pretty much always misalign anyway) and it looks 'better' but kinda dumb.

I agree, I'd like to find a smooth tank without the holes for the plastics that extend to the front. Make it look more like an old Xr honda.

You'll have to do some research, but when I was kitting out my DR, I used these guys almost exclusively: https://procycle.us/model

They have a whole bunch of options, and you can sort the page by model. Since these bikes seem to be a mish-mash of designs, you should be able to find something that works. Hope this helps!

anything can be made to fit.... if you can do a bit of fab work.... i swapped the 1.1gal tank from my Roketa/Shineray with a DR650 3.5 gal tank and seat... someday i may pick up an even larger tank for a dr now that i know it works....

EDIT: heres the thread where i did the mods... http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=13250

I sold the factory tank from my DR to one of the forum members here. Same thing, a cutting torch, some flat stock, and a drill later, he had a tank that was three times the size of his stock tank. Just be patient with your measurements and see what kind of room you have to work with, and finding a tank that can be adapted to fit shouldn’t be a huge issue.
