Newbie here.
Hello everyone ,
i am a newbie to motorcycle riding and this forum. After being furloughed from my job in the meeting and convention industry for almost a year now, I have decided to live for today since I have been sacrificing my happiness for years for a better tomorrow. So I decided to cash in some stocks and place an order for a 2021 csc sg250. I am a big guy at 6'1" 285lbs and I know this will be a little uncomfortable but I am upgrading the seat, sprocket, jet kit and getting the luggage rack. From the research I've conducted, this is a really good bike to learn on. I've seen big guys like me on them and they look fine to me. It's just a toy to get me in a better state of mind. I also love the basic machine. I love that it's air cooled and carbureted. I'm a big fan of basic machinery and I am reasonably mechanically inclined so working on it will be fine for me. I spoke to someone at csc today and was estimated to take 6-8 weeks which is fine since the earliest motorcycle basic rider course I can take is late March. I just wanted to say hello and I am looking foreword to sharing ideas and stories with you all soon. |

Usually the biggest issue with being a heavier rider is the suspension of most bikes really isn't setup for us. However, that can be a bridge you cross after you get the bike and get some practice in.

Thanks. There seems to be a decent amount of aftermarket mods you can install to make it better. I know for sure I can put better rear shocks on it. I live in the southwest and there are lots of great deserted desert roads paved and dirt to cruise on. The way things are going, who knows what the state of the world will be ten years from now. Time to have some fun now.
