New bike
It's a Honda 2014 CB1100.
My dad bought it new, only put 1340 miles on it. My mom recently passed away from covid, so dad needed to get finances in better shape. He called a dealer before talking to me about it, they didn't want to give him anything for it. Asked if I was interested, and wanted to know if I'd be interested in it for his payoff of $4400. I always loved the bike and helps him out, so it's a win/win. And if he ever changes his mind it's here. It's a great bike, amazing ride and power delivery. These didn't seem to really catch on here in the US, not sure why. ![]() |

Very sorry about your mom. My wife lost her father to Covid last year.
-Honda made a lot of great high performance standard bikes. -Seems like the bike makers put their best engines only in sport bikes, lately.

So sorry to hear about your mom. I wish you and your family the best in the future.
To the bike....I love it. Retro bikes just aren't retro, they're dang comfy and functional. Not all of us want bikes loaded with Tupperware that keeps us in the fetal position.

They didn't catch on here due to the price to performance level I think. They were a bit expensive and a bit heavy while not having a whole lot of power (relatively speaking). A CB1000R was a similar price, a tad lighter, and had more power. The other half of it was just bad timing. The Nostalgia bike craze hadn't quite hit yet.
Personally, I love them. A lot like my VFR1200, the best things about it are not on the surface. incredible build quality and finish, which is where some of that higher price comes from.

Thanks everyone.
Thats what im gathering as well Dan. You habe to appreciate the bike for what it is, and thats not a huge hp machine. To me it is very fast though. But only thing ive had comparable was a suzuki gs550 years ago. Everything else has been dualsports or cruisers. |
