Exhaust issue

Bought a 2019 Hawk 250 online. Rode it home with no issues. Took it around town the next day with no issues. Day after that it wouldn’t start. New spark plugs, cleaned carb, purged fuel still nothing. Looked at the exhaust and it’s splitting into 2 pieces near the heat shield. Not sure if there was originally a clamp there or some sort of connection as this is my first Hawk 250. Not sure if this is the reason for the bike not starting but I have a good feeling that it is. If anyone has any information on the topic I would greatly appreciate it!

The decrease in restriction of your exhaust may cause you to be lean, but it should still start especially with the choke on. You should check to see if it's firing, and getting compression , as well as fuel.

Spark plug is sparking, compression seems good, not sure how to tell if its getting fuel though. Carburetor is brand new though and I’ve checked for clogs anywhere that there could be one. Kickstart and electric start still not working. I just want to get it running so I can SELL IT!

Try hand choking it, by removing the breather ,or breather, to airbox tube from the back of the carb, and see it it pulls hard on your hand,it should. Are you sure the pet cock from the tank is in the correct position ? It wouldn't hurt to peck on the carb. You may have a restriction up in a jet, or passage way of your carb that cleaning didn't take care of. You can put just a couple of drops of gas down in the spark plug hole, and see if it hits, just don't use enough to ruin your oil if it doesn't burn it. It may not be firing hot enough. If you have starting fluid it would be nice. You could just spray a little in the back of your carb to more isolated the problem.

There should be a clamp on the exhaust. I don't remember the exact size at the moment but it's called a sanitary clamp. https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Ste...6588867&sr=8-4

Any chance the battery is the issue with the bike not starting
