thanks, for $17 i'll try one. Assuming it goes between the trigger on the statorand the cdi or between the cdi and the coil?

found a wiring diagram, looks like it shorts the trigger wire out when it reaches the set rpm so the cdi doesn't fire. Should be an easy install.

Well, I've been slacking. Kids arm is still broke so no hurry to get the quad wrapped up. I did get the baja Rev limiter installed. Good new is, it does work, bad new is I don't think it's low enough to make a difference. Still need to pick up a longer chain to fit the bigger back sprocket then I can see what kind of speed that rpm gives me.

Its currently non-running and in rough shape. I have all the oil seals to make it hold oil again, and the replacement CDI got the ignition working again so its not far from running. It was my uncles bike, I learned to ride on it 20+ years ago. Few years ago he gave it to me as is, haven't really had time to mess with it. Once its running and i put tires on it i plan to strip it and clean up the frame, not sure what im going to do about the forks as they are pitted pretty bad.

Has anyone tried this rpm limiter to see how it works? I ordered on off ebay, hoping it was good decision.

Like i posted before, it works but if you have stock gearing its not going to bring the speed down to much. I added I think 9 teeth to the back and went down 1 or two on the front and that worked. it goes like 8mph before hitting the rev limiter. Down side is it will wheelie so still use the throttle block.
