New muffler

I was thinking of doing a custom pipe on the GY-5 when I get it, looking at the muffler options. Then I looked at my Lifan LF200 and Im thinking that the muffler from it will fit very well. Its also a 200cc motor, probably the same diameter pipe but it is alot throatier then the little GY-5 muffler... The chrome shield comes off too. You can see this muffle at the bottom of this page:

what do you think people?

i wouldn't replace the stock muffler, with another stock muffler. I would get a used pipe off ebay or craigslist for a 125/250/450 dirtbike four stroke. Take the bike to a muffler shop and have them weld it on if you aren't able to do so yourself. I've been looking for yz/cr/xr/kx 250 pipes and seen a ton, even a stock pipe from one of those will make your exhaust sound better, flow about as much as the bike will ever put out, and look better then the stupid stock pipes.

I am going to go the route of a custom muffler from another bike, i will let you know how it goes once i get my hands dirty. My new bike should be here within the next 2 days, so once i have it in my possesion i can then process what needs to be done to it better.

what red 2003 did is what i would recommend doing.. either that or leave it stock and drill some holes in it ;-)

why replace a flawed part with another restrictive flawed part? ya know?

i wasnt even really thinking about hp, i was just saying, if you have to replace something, why not use something better? you can get a used muffler for cheap (under 50 bux) if you search around.
