Racing CDI for Bull 200
I received my new 6 pin AC racing CDI box that I had ordered off Aliexpress and got it installed.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...7c302eebBaMRaW It seems to run a little smoother and rev a little quicker.Not really enough to make a big difference.Best thing about it was the price plus it come with a new rubber sleeve.My old cdi's rubber sleeve was ripped where it slides on the holder on the frame.Shipping from Aliexpress seems a whole lot quicker than what it used to be.Took about 3 weeks from time of order to receive.Quick way to determine whether your atv is AC or DC is to look and see how many wires go to the 2 pin.If you have just 1 wire it is DC and 2 wires it is AC.But there are some 2 wire DC units out there.So take this advice with a grain of salt. I might try one of the blue box CDI's and see if it makes a bigger difference in idling and run faster. Main thing I need to do is adjust my valves,starting to get a little popping and back firing on wide open throttle,I was hoping this new CDI would eliminate that but it didn't. |

Mine is a 2019 model and it has the square 6 pin connection,you have to make sure whether it is round or a square plug in.

I saw a video recently where someone tested the orange and blue CDIs and found that all they did was set the advance to the max (~20 something degrees) right at start up. The max advance was the same as the stock CDI. Having that much advance may cause hard starting. However, if your original CDI had a rev limiter, the "performance" ones do away with it so that's an upgrade.

Several years ago, I bought a "racing" cdi for my daughter's 110cc SunL quad. It did seem to help low and midrange some, but it didn't have a rev limiter. She grenaded that engine, and I replaced it. She grenaded that one too. I suspect that it had to do with the lack of shifting skills and no rpm limits. Lol.

And that's why you need a rev limiter on a stock motor.

Yeah, she seemed to feel it was time to shift when she couldn't go any faster in whatever gear she was in.
I ended up getting her a polaris Phoenix... no shifting necessary. Lol

Hopefully have the room to get in there to do it without having to take everything off. |

Mine with the orange CDI seems more peppier down low and thru the midrange,seems to have a quicker throttle response,can't really tell a difference on top end.I did have to adjust my idle down some.I didn't buy this 4-wheeler for top end performance anyway,hardly ever see's wide open throttle,I just putter around pulling trees or my garden cart.Just bought a 7hp 3" capacity wood chipper off Amazon at a lightening sale price of $336 so I have been pulling around a lot of bush honey suckle tree's I call them and chipping them up to put in my garden so I can plow them under this fall and try to build my soil up.

I've went back to the stock CDI,with the stock CDI it will start right up but with the performance CDI you have to crank on it to get it started.That will be no good come winter.
I thought I seen a Casoli Moto CDI that would adjust itself just for the purpose of starting but still adjust for top end with no rev limiter.That might have been the DC one that will do that. |
