Not made up...honestly happened, I just wanted some help with what I should do. As far as him "not hiding a weapon" because he was naked...he was CARRYING a SAW!!!. Anyway, I kinda know a couple cops here in town, maybe I'll confide in them and see what they think.

The place we were was kind of "off-limits"...meaning, we were tresspassing (kinda-sorta).
Thats why I try to stay on the legal trails it minimizes (doesnt eliminate) the nutt jobs you find out in the woods. Plus on the legal trails you will find many like minded people that are willing to help out a fellow rider.

Do you think I should go back to scope things out? I'd rather not go back and find anything and then try to explain what we saw and why we didn't report it earlier.
I would NOT go back if its a private off limits area but if it was a public access area I'd tell the police and let them go in with a well trained dog, swinging their clubs and popping off a few rounds. (if the guys wasnt mentally ill before he will be after the police help him)

All-nude freelance lumberjacks are pretty rare these days.

Could have been a zombie.

Maybe you guys were tresspassing on Nudist territory. Most nudist I have seen should NOT be naked ...but that seems the way it is.
If you guys were tresspassing, and this old guy is bucking some wood naked, on his property...why is that enough to assume some old guy ,naked with a saw, miles from anything/ anyone is such a distastful thing....

Some people like to do things on their property, that they don't appreciate nosey people "seeing"...no mater if it is nature watching, wandering naked, growing pot, or brewing moonshine....Sometimes it is better to just keep trucking and nevermind what you see....

Rule #1:

If you see some naked, old guy in the woods, don't go back for a second look.

when i was in nursing school, during one of my clinical rotations, an old man told me how he and his family bathed in the local river. and how he continued to do this. so to me, other than the fact that you were tresspassing, and he had a saw. nothing really strange going on.

Was he near his house or shanty, lean to etc??

Bizzare, to say the least! Was he near any lodging? Some people are extremely protective of thier property, exspecially some of them old fellers. They'll fight for what they own whether in clothes a towel or whatever. Maybe he was brewing some shine, cooking some meth, or planting some grass. All i know is I would have gotten out of there, and quick. Interesting though.
