Most modern lithium ion batteries will work with standard chargers, however, some chargers use an "desulfur" type thing that reverses polarization for lead acid batteries, and lithium batteries wont take that. Otherwise just set your charger to less than 3amp and you're ok.
Hey thanks for that! I will probably just go the safe route and get a Lipo charger. It looks like there are a lot of affordable options out there.
