Other bikes that use the CB 125 (150) SOHC motor
Hey everybody, I've just about got my $150 2004 MaxFine 150 enduro up & running. This bike uses the overbored Honda CB 125 (149 cc) SOHC motor and I've noticed most of the bikes on this forum seem to use the CG 125 pushrod motors.
Does any one know which bikes of that era used the Loncin CB 125 clone motor? I figured it might help with future parts hunting. As far as the Maxfine goes, I installed a new PZ27 carb, 2 stage air filter, new rear inner tube, tail light assy, and a pair of LED turn signals on the back. I finished relining the tank with POR 15 a week ago and am gonna' install tomorrow. The bike turns over with good compression, which isn't surprising, since it was stored away before i bought it with 79.4 miles showing on the odometer. Wish me luck! Yeah, some definite similarities there. Did some more research & found that the engine is identical in spec to the 2004/5 Honda CRF 150, which isn't too surprising, since Loncin was making engines for Honda's Asian/Indian markets at that time. The frame/chassis looks to be a hybrid of the older XR/XL models that use the engine as a stressed member of the frame.
I'm hoping to get it out on some trails during a late Sept. or early October camp trip, that is if we get some rain here in the Pacific NW. Thanks for the observations. |
