Missouri plates also no go. I think State plate sizes are mostly uniform. TBR7 must have South America/SE Asia compatibility slots.
I encountered this issue after a few other problems with my son's TBR7 assembly/build. I will post photos and some details elsewhere, but... -battery too tall by nearly half inch, had to cut the airbox and then duct tape to seal it back up -no hole in the rear brake lever for the rear brake light switch spring -luggage rack holes don't line up at all, and the black cylinders on the rack are way off, don't lay flat (off by ~1/2")- just can't mount it! -the worst issue... rolled it out for a first test drive after fixing the battery mount issue and changing the oil, and the left foot peg broke off as if welded with silly putty. I haven't dealt with that yet. It is a pretty lengthy list for a new motorcycle. Discovering the license plate bracket thing just made me shake my head. Easy to fix, well, yes, but I agree with OP. Stupid! I don't anticipate ANY new rack from the importer. Will have to drill, cut, tape... ![]() BAD WELDS could be real bad problem if it affects the rest of the frame! My son is pretty disgusted with these things. Me too frankly. My Bashan Storm had NO issues, no broken welds in a year, better front suspension.. BUT NO kill switch ![]() And the Storm cost almost exactly the same $ Gee ![]() |

Thumper, It sucks that your bike is exhibiting so many mfg flaws. Mine, with a build date of May 2021, has been going together very well. The only fitment issues I've discovered are the top of the foot brake arm returning against the foot starter mounting bolt instead of the adjustable brake arm stop. I can easily remove a little material from the top of the brake arm and create clearance so it rests against the stop screw as intended. Only other thing is that the rack or tail of the bike seems to lean a bit to one side. Probably looks fine after a couple beers. Other than that, things went together well. I wonder if these bikes are produced in more than one mfg plant? If so, maybe one plant has their s@#t together and the other is a cluster f#$%k? All fasteners on mine were tight, all spokes were tight, no missing hardware, etc. I did notice the valve cover bolts were way too tight. I have to assume somebody on the line got a new power tool for Chinese New year.

I'm in FL, my hawk came with a metal bracket to allow you to have a larger plate mounted on the plastic fender. Which still didn't fit the FL plate. I just chopped and drilled that metal piece .
I also tried mounting the plate vertically (which according to my research is legal in FL) . It fit fine in the space, with the bottom resting on the little ledge, but would require drilling 2 holes in the plastic, and clearing out some of the plastic stiffening ribs on the back of the fender to get space for a nut. |

Mounting vertical looked like an option to me as well. Drilling holes through the plastic might bring down the collector value when you go to sell it at auction 25 years from now.

I wish to lodge an official complaint that krat is spoiling our fun with his common sense.

So did this.
I recommend we start a flame war of completely pointless insults back and forth to extend this thread another few pages. I'll start: Hey pal, who you calling fat?!
