Hawk front forks

I finally got around to looking at the forks on the hawk. It's been a weak spot from the beginning.
I know nothing about forks but I lifted it from the handle bars and pulled the caps finding spacers about 1.5 inches. Placed a 17mm short socket on top of each spacer and replaced the caps. It's the biggest improvement I've made to the bike since jets and sprockets.

I have done a lot of work with and posted a lot of information on the forks. From larger preload spacers like what you just did to set rider sag to YSS Fork valves. The Fork valves are by far the best single upgrade I have ever done to the suspension and a fork brace being the other. The valves aren't really necessary but the fork brace is worth a look.

Thanks Dan, do you know the oil volume off hand? Still has factory oil in it but I don't trust they have amount right. Thinking of using dex 3 because I always have 50ga of it. What do you think ?

Dex 3 is perfectly fine for these forks. It's what old Hondas used to use and more than a few members here run it and are happy with it.

Minimum volume is 165ml. I run around 200ml in my forks.
