The fuel screw is located on the bottom front of the carb (towards the head). It's a bear to get to. Easiest to pull the carb. Screw in to lean, out to richen. These engines seem to like about 2 turns out from fully closed.

I know this is alot...

So do you recommend I pull the carb, close out the screw then turn it back twice for a base and adjust from there or just lean it out from where i'm at right now? (its pretty rich, I had to replace the stock plug after 6 months of riding. It wouldn't start at all. very black electrode)

Personally, I'd leave it alone if it is running OK. The cheap, stock plug may have caused the rich looking condition, not the other way around. If you are convinced it is still too rich, just screw it in a 1/4 turn at a time until you like it. Unless you are at a high elevation, I am sure it is not too rich. Have you cleaned the air filter lately?

I'm at 4600 ft and tend to ride at higher elevations than that. The bike runs ok but does seem underpowered when accelerating. Could the mixture be too rich?

My bike is new and I hate to mess with the carb since I hate to break something that works. "If it ain't broke, don't break it!" as the car guys say.

What does the screw on the right side of the carb do?

The screw on the right side of carb is the idle adjustment. In makes it idle faster out makes it slower.

The mixture screw on the bottom works good for most at about 2 turns out. To get this you turn it in all the way until it stops and then out 2 turns and leave it.

At 4600 feet, you might be a little rich. The fuel screw isn't gonna fix it though. A smaller main jet is probably in order. If you feel like you can live with it the way it is, I'd just run it. If you have a real sluggish low end, raise the needle clip up a notch or two, and lean out the fuel screw to 1 turn from fully closed. Should make it snappier.
