Installed new sprocket on my gy200-2.

I put a 45t sprocket on the bike. It feels just right for going 55mph. I wouldn't want a sprocket that was any smaller or I would have very little take off power.

I also took my road test at the DMV last Tuesday and Failed.

I came to a crosswalk and was turning right. There was a guy on the otherside of a double lane highway diagonle left to my position. I turned right and he began coming across the street (100 yards from where I was turning). The lady said I should have waited for this guy, so she failed me.

In real life no one would ever have waited for this guy when they were turning right.

So if I ever see anyone in a crosswalk anywhere on the street again I will not go until they are gone.

That's right. The driving test is not real life. You're expected to be super careful.

If I understand this correctly the lady that failed you is wrong. Our code of laws in SC [and assuming your state] read:

SECTION 56-5-3230. Drivers to exercise due care. [SC ST SEC 56-5-3230]

Notwithstanding other provisions of any local ordinance, every driver of a vehicle shall exercise due care to avoid colliding with any pedestrian or any person propelling a human-powered vehicle and shall give an audible signal when necessary and shall exercise proper precaution upon observing any child or any obviously confused, incapacitated or intoxicated person.

SECTION 56-5-3250. Pedestrians' right-of-way on sidewalks. [SC ST SEC 56-5-3250]

The driver of a vehicle crossing a sidewalk shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian and all other traffic on the sidewalk.

SECTION 56-5-3130. Pedestrians' right-of-way in crosswalks. [SC ST SEC 56-5-3130]

(a) When traffic-control signals are not in place or not in operation the driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way, slowing down or stopping if need be to yield to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within a crosswalk when the pedestrian is upon the half of the roadway upon which the vehicle is traveling or when the pedestrian is approaching so closely from the opposite half of the roadway as to be in danger.
(b) No pedestrian shall suddenly leave a curb or other place of safety and walk or run into the path of a vehicle which is so close as to constitute an immediate hazard.

SECTION 56-5-3150. Crossing at other than crosswalks. [SC ST SEC 56-5-3150]

(a) Every pedestrian crossing a roadway at any point other than within a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway.

(b) Any pedestrian crossing a roadway at a point where a pedestrian tunnel or overhead pedestrian crossing has been provided shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway.

(c) Between adjacent intersections at which traffic-control signals are in operation pedestrians shall not cross at any place except in a marked crosswalk.

(d) No pedestrian shall cross a roadway intersection diagonally unless authorized by official traffic-control devices and when authorized to cross diagonally pedestrians shall cross only in accordance with the official traffic-control devices pertaining to such crossing movements.

You do have to be more careful on a bike.avoid accelerating into on-coming traffic..the guy could have been drunk and plowed right into you, also at a red light at least where I am from never turn right if there is a car crossing your path from any direction, not sure if this was the case in your situation? Better luck next time, no one is perfect!

I liked the 45T. I am trying a 42T now and it seems to be working good, but takeoff is alittle lacking.

Sorry about this stupid question; I have looked for where to get these sprockets but I cannot find them and the links in the other posts don't link to actual sellers, from what I can tell. I really want to try a new smaller sprocket for my Hi-Bird, so could you tell me where you got your sprockets.

I bought mine from Bruce for 42 bucks shipped to my door. It really is a lot better than th 56t. The 45t is just right.

i have a 39 and i still want it to go faster.... i think the hy-birds and geared way lower than all yours by the sounds of it, i can still only go 90-100kmh maybe it will go better when its broke in
