I need more power!!!

Hey, gang. It's time to "power up" the wife's Kymco Vitality 2 stroke. Where can I get a 70cc big bore kit? What kind of hp and torque can I expect after installing? Also, gonna need a performance exhaust. What else would I need?

She's looking for more speed, especially up hill.

Appreciate any and all info.

Thanks!

whats the law say in your state. in ct you can run a 50cc with no reg. the clinker is the top speed is set at 30mph, any thing over and you run the risk of getting tagged for operating a motor vehicle with out a reg. i just platted my dr650 this spring and with all the taxes, fees and
insurance it will be a year before i can break even on those expenses by way of gas savings, just in time for the property taxes. so you might want to keep it as a 30mph machine and avoid those issues.

The same in GA and MN. Limited to 30mph. In MN you still need a tag on 50cc, but GA does not require one at all.

Well, it's registered and has the sticker on it. Doesn't need a plate. I see a lot of 50cc's with kit in them whizzing by but I never get a chance to speak with anyone.

The law does say up to 30mph, but I road my wife's scooter to work a few times doing over 40 and never heard a word from the cops.

i wonder if a boost bottle from a pocket bike would help since those are for 50cc two stroke engines...

in ct getting a ticket like that goes way beyond the initial cost of the fine. it is linked to your insurance costs and will follow you in the form of higher costs for many years. i decided not to roll the dice on the 50cc over 30mph issue..

Ontario canada too. I'm kinda paranoid about my licence and insurance. They nail you to the wall here. I payed 400$ this year, 2 more years and I'm down to $200. There are riders here, with my experience, paying more for insurance than the payments on their new bikes. $1500 a year is not unusual for a new rider here. I might be paranoid, but I know they are watching me.

Kit it! Just because it goes 50mph doesnt mean you have to ride over 30mph. Just stop at all the stop signs, wear a helmet and be safe and courteous. Unless your clocked over 35mph or so, I dont think any police officer is going to tear down your engine and see what mm your piston is.
Just my two cents.

why would you go to all the expense to make a 30mph machine be able to go 50mph and then not use it. in my state most speed traps try to be invisable and do not advertise till its to late. the law is over 30mph and you got yourself an unreg'd and uninsured motor vechile. if you want to tempt the fates go right ahead, i will pass.

I could see uping the CC's to 70 or even 90 and changing the sprockets to get the speed back close to 35 and be left with the added torque though.
A quicker zero to 35 scoot might be able to beat an overall faster scoot that tops out at 40-45.Not in the long haul but for those common short runs.
If you take them off the line and run away from them all the way up to 35 then I think you'd be happy and overall it would be a very fun scoot to run.

I'd be happy with a madass or a converted SIKK 125 trailbike thats tops out at 30-35 or so.
