My Hawk has always had a bit of a stutter occasionally. It's kind of unpredictable. Today I decided to pull the tank and explore a little. While I was in there, I pulled the sensors from the throttle body, cleaned them and dielectric greased the connectors. I also found a vacuum line from the Evap canister to the throttle body that was kinked against the frame due to the angle of the throttle body. It wasn't long enough to route a different way so I reversed the hose ends so the kink crease was in a less kinky spot. At this moment I realized I had 2 hoses for the Evap canister, 1 from the tank and 1 from the throttle body and I didn't take note of which hose went to which nipple. I took my best guess and put it back together.
The Hawk took a little bit of turning before coming back to life and stalled once, but then ran ok. I took it for a ride and it seems to be no worse than before I started. Would the engine run poorly or throw codes if I reversed the hoses on the Evap system? Would it be immediately noticeable or a slowly developing problem if it is a problem? It's running seemingly normal. Should I just not worry about it?

Well. It's running at least as good as before, so I'm gonna say it's either connected correctly, or it doesn't make difference.
The rubber washer in the fuel cap got chewed up by the rim of the fuel tank. Basically the rim chews the washer into an outer ring bigger than the rim and a center ring that could potentially fall into the tank. I don't know if any chunks ended up inside the tank. ...guess I was tightening the cap too much. I ordered a couple different washers and a couple fuel filters. If they fit properly, I'll post the parts. They are coming from Amazon tomorrow. I won't be able to fuss with it til Sunday though

Here is a picture of the kinked line. If the nipple for the hose on the throttle had a right angle, it would be fine, but it is straight and runs directly into the frame.

Couple pictures of what remains of the original fuel cap gasket/washer. I have an improvised gasket in place so I don't leak fuel before I get the replacement.

On my 21’ DLX it has a right angle connector on the throttle body, so no pinch. I took the fuel tank cap off and it looks like the rubber gasket is fine. I can see that over tightening could be a problem. My tank is on and I’m charging the battery and decided to look at what could be wrong with yours. Wondering what that red hose is in your picture, perhaps crankcase breather? My bike has no red hose. Just my observations…

The red hose is my crankcase breather. The original one was cracking at the ends so I changed it out.

I bought 2 different washers for the fuel cap. Both from Amazon.
F FIERCE CYCLE Motorcycle Engine Rubber Fuel Gas Oil Tank Cover Seal O Ring Gaskets Protector Universal Circular https://a.co/d/bdOBtMl This is the one I'm using. It's outer diameter is a hair smaller than the other that I got and it sits flat. The other washers that got were a set of 4 neoprene and much closer in comparison to OE but it bowed a little(original did too). They seem of good quality and I'm going to keep them.
