seat realse mechanism
So I decided to pull the seat off lucy lu and noticed that the release mechanism was not working really good. and I decided that since it was not working good I need to pull her apart and find the problem..... here is a pic of the minor failure that fell out after taking that piece off. Any suggestions? I can gurantee that there is noway I can super glue this mess back togather.

Looks like Lucy Lu was keistering a frag :!:
Without seeing several points of detailed view, I could only suggest calling Dallas... Of course there is allways the possibility of fabricating a retrofit, but I have never examined the quick release seat to give you any further suggestions...this is a new rigging for Lefan, and I am not too familiar with it. Maybe someone with that rig can help develop a way to manufacture a replacement. Good luck, The bump's on me, Tigertamer

That is wasted.
Is all that plastic from the bottom of the seat ? I kind of like our one screw seat mounting system now that I seen that. |

on the 07 lifans they have a cable pull system to release the seat, however they seemed to use an inferior plastic on the base of the mechanism and it fell apart when I unbolted it. :( I am thinking about finding some rubber bushings to reinstall the little metel wiggy mo bobber so I at least do not slid backward every time I accelerate from a stop sign.

Can you scrap the quick release and bolt the seat to the frame somehow?

I'd try and modify some sort of gate latch in there. Of course, i'm completely unaware as to where this all goes, 'cause my bike has no seat release. I've done something similar to my old KE100 but it has a metal seat base... Good luck

Sounds like it needs a good piece of nylon there to do the job.
you can get nylon sheet material in all kinds of sizes and it is relatively easy to work. It is also very durable and has a little bit of flex so it's difficult to break. In fact thats what I used to make to side panels on my bike. |
