My heart transplant thread

81 xr200r, bought for 750

crashed broke the fork and speedo, replaced with 84 200r fork (better)
broke the wheel

then killed the motor

got a 163fml Lifan motor and wiring harness

took some mods: used honda intake (piece between the carb and motor)
used honda carb top and piece that holds throttle cable in
had to cut motor mount spacers and use washers to make fit
need to get 520 sprocket that fits my honda chain
dont think pipe will fit
and theres more im not done yet

heres some pics of my progress
not in order

Looks like you are getting along fairly well

You seem to be pretty motivated, so you should be able to get it dialed-in.

That harness doesn't look quite as intimidating while coiled up on the ground, as it does coiled around the bike frame 8O

Good progress, keep us posted,
Tigertamer

I think you'll find the chain won't line up, I believe that Hooper Imports have had a special sprocket made to rectify this.

Jonathan.

it looks like the chain lines up but its a 428 sprocket on the lifan and needs a 520, its a pain in the Hoo-Hoo to find parts for lifan around here.

Check with Bruce at EJcycles. 330-274-0098

He has 520 front sprockets for the lifan engines.

Yup, definatly looks better is black! Congrats on a nice swap!

All in all do you figure more or less power with the China-built engine? Less/More Speed?

Thanks for your post!
