zongshen sierra
i have been looking at the roketa db-07a from xxx-motorsports.com for $1029 and the bike looks great. but i will be buying soon and after seeing PolygonFla's sierra i might want to spend the extra. i was wondering what the best deal is on these bike. i found one at scooterscapes.com for 1800 or something like that. but i was wondering if anyone knew anywhere cheaper. thanks
![]() edit looking back, maybe this should be in the dealer section. but i would still like the input. |

Chris, I have decided on the Sierra too. I will probably order from Menin Tools for 2079.00. I would like to get it for less, but there are no dealers in my area. I wish you luck finding a good price on it. I will be watching this thread for others input.

Become a dealer...they wholesale decently. Their wholesale prices aren't as low as the common GY's, but then again, this is a different animal. Beerslayer got his Qlink from an importer/dealer on the west coast for under $1800, but it was local for him.

i love polygonfla's sierra, such a cool looking bike, the only thing that i would have to change is tires, i want knobbies on my dual purpose, unless i had a drz400sm (something that had 40+ hp on a tiny lil frame like ours...)

Hi, I'm glad my bike is generating so much interest. I am fairly certain that the Sierra comes with 50/50 knobbies but Scooterescapes puts on the road tires because the bikes sell better here with them.
Keep in mind prices on these things are totally negotiable. Depending on how many the dealer ordered will depend on the discount he got. You can go here to find out if there is a dealer near you. http://www.zongshenamerica.com/locate_dealer.html Try not to pay more than $1600-1800 any more than that and you could get a very low mileage Jap bike in like new condition used. If I didn’t have a dealer near me I would have ordered from XXX-Motorsports. I know either bike will be fun. Good luck! |

T-motorsports is also a good company, MDSuave13 and I have both had good experiences with them... I think they're selling the 06 GY-5 for $1045+$199 shipping to your door...

I finally managed to get some video of the Sierra in action. It isn't much and I felt foolish puttering around in front of the camera, but here it is.

I never got above 3rd gear so am guessing 35. I didn't bother to note the speed. 8)
I am going to post a video walk around in my Photobucket gallery for anyone who is interested. Ok here is the link to a walk around. I am no video pro so you will see fingers, ground, sky ect. And until the engine is started there is a lot of wind noise. ![]() http://s172.photobucket.com/albums/w...WalkAround.flv |

I looked at that web site months ago. I disregarded them because they have so much goofy stuff. Like the personal hovercraft and scooter with side car. I notice they now even carry 2 models of tractor.
The web site layout hasn't improved though. It is really layed out haphazard, I suspect most of the HTML is just pulled strait from other locations, I know many of the pictures are. One thing I can say for Zongshen though is, in the specs for the Sierra they claim a top speed of 62 mph. I got 63mph by GPS the first day on the road. I am now cruising at 65 with regularity but at that speed I only get 55 MPG. If I keep it under 60 MPH I get better than 70 MPG but not the 102 claimed. |

It is, It cooled off while I was being shown how to use the camera. When it warms up fully, the idle drops down to barely running.
This is the first time I have seen pictures of me on the bike. Dang it looks tiny. It doesn't feel too small when I'm on it. ![]() I guess the old adage is true. It isn't size that matters but how it is used. |
