Hey Spud,
I got that Powercore 2 on order from Cheap Cycle Parts. Got it, a clamp and shipping total was $125. I'll post some pics when I get it put on. BTW I am a Instructor for the SVIA ATV Rider Course. I am what they call an agency instuctor, meaning I teach to agencies such as the FD I belong to. Haven't had much time to ride because of all the rain we have been having. I did get the Outlander out a couple of weeks ago and ran into snow that was still about 6ft deep not far behind the house. Steve |

*update*
Yesterday I took out the carb and re-jetted the stock from 132 to a 136, as I suspected it was running slightly lean from adding the new exhaust system. I also did the airbox mod to get more air in the intake. After testing a few, 136 was exactly what I needed. I think this has enhanced adding the new exhaust that much more, as there feels like even more power now. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

The Zong's carb is almost identical to the Yamaha TW200 carb. Here is a pictorial I found on the TW. http://tw200forum.com/forums/29002/ShowPost.aspx Replacing the main jet is exactly the same. One thing I noticed, they have to add spacers to raise the needle, and the zong has the adjustable c-clip. Also, their stock jet is a 126, and my Zong's was a 132, so they must be slightly different internally, but other than that identical.

Ok Spud, pipe showed up today. On the Zong, there is no mid-pipe. It is the muffler section with a pipe and the header pipe. What you need to is cut the muffler pipe section about where the bend is. And then you will need to cut a section off the new mid pipe. Seal it up with some red silicone and clamp with pipe clamps.
The pipe is definitely louder, but not too loud. Gives it a nice grunt. Now for a test ride. I have to agree with Desertrider, this is the best mod for the money. The soft low end is now gone. This thing pulls noticeably harder than stock. Thumbs up all the way... |
