One possibility...
I put a White Brothers Mini R4 for a Honda CRF 150 on mine.
$100 off CraigsList. These list around $225-250 new. Headpipe bolted right up into the exhaust port. It was a little short ('bout an inch) and the silencer angle and mount needed a little "adjusting" due to that. There's a different part number for the CRF 230, I wonder if that headpipe would be a little longer?? I'll post pictures tomorrow (I'm at work today, waiting for something to do  ). Later, Bill |

Pics posted
Raf,
I posted the pics in the gallery. Side view of the bike: Exhaust port: Engine side view. No heat shield. I haven't burned my pants up yet. I used Ultracopper sealant here. Probably not necessary, it was a tight slip fit. Just felt better to seal it up. You can see the lower silencer bolt mount behind the side cover bolt hole. No easy way to make that work. Gotta get some type of heat-shielding for the battery, though Silencer view: I used a #2 conduit stand-off to hold the lower silencer pipe. You can see the "kink" I had to make just to the left of the standoff. I used some aluminum strap to make the mounting bolt spacer. It was about an inch. I haven't made time to "make it pretty" yet. Couple of links for retail sales: http://www.locomx.com/ProductDetails...MINIR4&click=2 http://www.denniskirk.com/1/1/457705...pe-447695.html This was a pretty easy install. As in the pics, I did have to put a very small "kink" in the silencer pipe to get it low enough to line up with the stock mount. The R4 pipe is still much larger than stock. If the head pipe had been long enough or I could have found something to make a spacer, it would have lined right up. I haven't had to rejet at this point. I'm running in the "acceptable lean range" on a plug color chart I found. I did raise the needle as described in another thread. Nice deep thump at idle, and amazingly, not to loud at the speeds I ride on the street. Very satisfied at this point. Bill |

What year of CFR did you purchase this exhaust for '84? I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a full system that fits!

Also looks like they're discontinued, so may be hard to find new. I looked in my "Receipts/papers/junk drawer" and couldn't find any paperwork about this pipe. :( I bought it used and didn't get much more than the shipping box the previous owner received it in (box is long gone). No big deal then, my plan was to just use the silencer on the stock head pipe and sell the Mini R-4 header later. Luckily, the Mini R-4 head pipe matched up, so I used the entire thing. Note that the length was short and I had to "make it work" Good luck, Bill |

I really appreciate the quick response Bill! Like you said above, the 230 may be a bit longer. I’ll do some searching to see what I can find. Funny, every evening I come home and search through 10 or 15 pages in hopes that someone has some info on aftermarket (or at least year/model Honda)headers that will fit this bike. I believe I stumbled upon your post about 70 or 80 pages in. The search engine on this site is of not much help on the subject. If you know of, or come across, any other posts similar to this one please give me a shout. Anyway, thanks again for the info!
Cheers, HB |

A few of the exhaust threads I used.

Pure gold Bill! Thanks a lot for the info. I actually came across the same White Bros. system while perusing E-Bay. I’m currently bidding on a BBR system for the ‘03 CRF 150/230 which comes with a 115 main jet and the BBR performance CDI. Both of which would probably be needed anyway. I’ll post some updates if (hopefully) I end up winning. Again, thanks a lot for the links!
