New 2010 Pitster LXT 400 Dualsport
Pitster Motorcycles has just announced their new 2010 Pitster LXT 400 Dualsport. Finally! A 400cc water-cooled chinese dualsport has hit the market. The bike sells for $3499 and comes with a 6-speed transmission.
I may need to get one of these! A had been looking at the XTR 250LC but this one just popped up on the Pitster website. I think, I could pull enough weigh off it to get it down under 300lbs. It's listed at 316lbs. I may hold off on the diesel project for awhile and buy one. I'll contact Pitster and report what I find out. SamM Link: http://www.pitsterpro.com/bike/photos/id/37

Now the chinese are getting somewhere. Comparable to a DRZ400.
The guages and switches appear to be cheaper chinese parts yet. Allen

I just came across that looking at the 250 too, very nice indeed! $3500 isn't too outrageous either..

Got alittle more info going here.
http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1221 http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=829532 http://www.vimeo.com/6841027 The video is okay, but doesn't really show much. Also in the mychinamoto thread it reference a relationship to the xingyue 400 we have seen before. I would expect the pitster to have improved quality though. Allen

Wow, I like the look of that bike. I've been looking for something a touch bigger than the 200. Other than that first website anyone know where we can pick one up for cheaper than MSRP? 8)

I think that pitster will spec higher grade components. They seem to what to have a better product.
I really like to 250 model also. As for dealers http://www.pitsterpro.com/locateadealer you need to fill out the form to get the closest dealer to you. Allen

Since nobody bought the XY400, which was about the same price as this Pitster, I doubt we'll see many Pitster, if any.

I think the pitster has a better backing of its product and they have sold alot of bikes already so there name is out there.
Saying that, I won't be the first to buy. I too filled out the dealer locate form. Allen

Well, I got this email back already. Didn't give me a local dealer.
"Thanks for the email. Yes the 400cc is street legal!! We will have more stock in 3 weeks of this model. Yes it will be $3499 shipped to your door! We have been taking this bike on a few little adventures and its a great bike! Very capable off road and a good street commuter as well. Please let me know if you have any questions and how we can help you. Regards Gary G." I asked him to provide us with more information on the bike to appeased us potential buyers. Big concerns are parts availability, warranty, dealer support, quality standards. Allen

There's 1 or 2 guys from pitster on thumpertalk. He posted the bike and then the video a few weeks ago. I thought I let you all know under the where's a chinese 400cc DS bike thread?
Looks like a good bike to me but I'd prefer to buy a slightly used DRZ for the same or less.
