Insurance rape?!
Yep. I just tried to renew my Lifan insurance - $578 per year.
They should at least buy me dinner first.

WOW..
I won't have to do mine till next oct. Sure hope it doesn't jump that high. I paid $315 last year after my RoadstarGold discount ($564 without) then add the $33 for license fee and the $36 for ther New Plate and New registration Fee which I won't have to pay this year. |

Progressive tried that high price with me. Turns out they didn't know how to fit what it was called with the existing classification. If it is a bike they don't have a rate for, they throw a high one at you. Is it Progressive you are using?

Several of us have Progressive for about $75 a year. Are they trying to ramp this up after the first year when the renewal notice comes?? That makes no sense unless you had an accident or ticket to warrant a premium increase???? Frostbite, what you gonna do???

You guys need to check out atv-line.com. I had 3 atv's and a ct-110 insured through them for 63 bucks a year. Yes, 63! It was 50 bucks for the atv's, & it jumped a whopping 13 bucks a year to add the bike. I tried to get an online quote from them, but they didn't have roketa listed, so i just stopped where i have my car insurance & got progressive for 75 bucks. Give them a shot, they should have a phone number listed on their website, & if not, I can get it for you.

I'm in Canada and we have rather Draconian insurance rates, as you can probably tell. We're required by law to be insured for public liability and property damage - PLPD (minimum coverage @ $200,000). I've also only had my license for about a year which isn't helping matters.
$578 doesn't even cover my bike in an accident, just the 'other' guy. I did manage to get them down to $431 after promising to take the motorcycle safety course. I'd rather put the money into training rather than the Insurance companies pocket. BTW, we don't have Progressive in Canada.

Man Frostbite, they are just hammering you guys up there between bogus laws and bogus insurance rates, my homeowners insurance went thru the roof last year so I can sypathize with your situation but it's still rediculous... It seems like they are going to put an extra price on any "luxury" item just because big business can and there is not much we can do about it, however my house is not a luxury item...
Our basic liability is $10,000 down here, that covers the other guy, what are you going to hit with your China bike that may cost $200,000, aim for the guy in the ferrari...

I got minimum coverage with Progressive and it was $79 a year. And I have a wreck and two speeding tickets on my record. What am I doing wrong?
