zong stator // headlight
I don't know how much the stator puts out on my zong, but i found some 60w headlight bulbs off my old klx and wanted to try it .I did put on a l.e.d. tallight/ stop light so that would help lighten the load, But still I'm thinking a 45 w would probably be safer, anyone have any thoughts.??

You will be fine. Spud runs a 55 watt headlight and an LED taillight and has no problems, if you don't count the fire. 8O
Just kidding. 8)

yes , but spud switched out all the dash lights to l.e.d. and the turn signals to led before switching to the 55w I think? I know if I did all that it would work.I'm wondering if it will work with the stock dash lights and turn signals, and what damage if it doesn't work?

The dash lights add up to what, less than 5 watts? The blinkers don't count for much either, and they are not on enough to drain the batteyr. I say you're good to go.
Another idea. You could be the first Chinarider to go HID. More light, less heat, 35 watt draw. Be an inovater!

There was an infamous chinarider a while back that did many mods to his bike including HID. It was quite bright as I recall. I think HID lights use something to keep the light low and not blind oncoming traffic. He did not and had an encounter with the law. Ifg enough bugs got worked out it would be a great system.

headlight
the bulb I'm trying to use is NOT H.I.D ,,HID requires the installation of a ballast . The bulb I found is a 60/60/ w halogen, at least thats all it says on the package I ran these on my 97 KLX300 with an acerbis universal headlightassembly,But I had everything else switched over to L.E>D.

The only incandescent bulb on my Zong is the headlight, a standard, 55W/60W, H4, halogen bulb. If the stator doesn't generate enough electricity, your battery might not charge fully, but you should not have any other problems. I agree with Doc; it won't hurt to experiment with the 60W bulb.

In meantime i was using digital odometer, but recently water broke in,stoped working (yeah it was too cheap 4$ !).My estimation is about 35 000 km,maybe more ore less. Im too happy with bike. I will post video at night (for 3,4 hours) |

Spud, do you know what are replacment Clutch Friction Plates for Zong beside OEMs ? Maybe EBC, but witch part number.
My plates are worning out, last few km i got slipage few times, i know its not oil problem (im using same oil from 1st km on Zong). Here in Croatia i can buy OEMs plates (about 40$) but i would like to buy a better one (like EBC),so i dont need to replace it next 30~40k. Thanks |

I'd also like to see a video. If I was upgrading a bulb I'd consider HID. My Q has halogen, the Wing has halogen/HID and halogen driving lights. I can cook a bird in mid air with the Wing.

http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...010&fveh=37793 The Vesrah equivalent is part #VC-229. I bet EBC also manufactures these plates. You might want to search the TW200 forum, and see what the gentlemen over there are buying. http://catalog.vesrah.co.jp/catalog/shape/vc-229.html Spud
