Skid plate?
Anyone know where I can get a real skid plate for my Roketa RSM-200?
The stock one will eventually cause me to replace the side cases. Lotsa rocks round here. Thanks John |

Which engine is your bike based on? Is it the Lifan style?

It's a 163 FML if that is any help.
Looks like the same as is in the Valve Adjustment tutorial by Red2003. |

Can you post a pic? It would be helpful if you can show the bottom of the front of the engine; I'm trying to see if the frame is prepped for a skidplate.

Will do in the morning.
It has one now but it doesn't cover much and seems to be about the consistency of stiff cardboard. I would like to get something to protect both sides of the engine like I have on my KLR 650. Thanks for your interest. John |

I could use a new one too. Haven't had much luck locating one though. Mine looks exactly like that and it vibrated into two where it mounts at the rear underneath the engine. Looks like someone tried to weld it together back there and the welds came undone.

a shop could weld on some extra metal and bracing fairly easily. i found that the stock skid plate is actually surprisingly durable hit a few stumps with it that threw me off the bike and it had no major dents when it was retired

That was an interesting thread. I wonder why it did not come up when I did a search?
I may try one of the Honda XR 250 skid plates. Gotta do some measureating. Thanks John |

I'd view this as a chance to buy a Harbor Freight welder on sale and have fun learning how to use it.
If you ride a CB long enough, you will need to learn how to weld. :P
