X2 on the connectors. I'd blow 'em out with a compressor.

i guess it was out of gas, didn't think it would be because the way it cut off and the fact i can see gas in the tank when i take the top off. i tried to start it a few minutes ago and nothing, i poured about 1/2 gallon of gas in it and it started right up.

These 200cc engines have a lot of work to do. If you are fighting stiff headwinds, running wide-open-throttle (WOT), et cetera, you can empty the Zong fuel tank in less than 100 miles. When I had the stock fuel tank I would always fill it up before I reached 100 miles on the trip odometer. The reserve portion of the fuel tank will only take you 15 miles, or less. :( You had a question about the "reserve" position on the fuel petcock; did you get a chance to practice switching the fuel petcock to the "reserve" position?

Amen! I hope your problem is resolved, Alan. However, you might want to refrain from riding to any remote places for a week or so, just to be sure. Also, I still strongly encourage you to buy a spare CDI unit.
