Mine sputters and backfires (little crackies between gears and when I shut it down) I have to choke it until it's very warm and can't seems to maintain a consistent idle setting. When I first got it running this spring I smelled plastic melting. One of my electrical components slipped from it's rubber boot and fell on the exhaust. I got a nice melted spot but didn't appear to melt thru. It was after that it started running like crap. I think after this post it was the CDI and it was damaged by the heat. Does anyone have a different diagnosis? Does anyone know a good place to get a CDI for a 2006 Roketa DB07 200?
Thanks |

Try the ebay link Doc gave earlier, I ordered it Thursday and it just showed up Today. Haven't put it in yet though. I'll let everybody know tomorrow how it works out.

Well, got the new CDI installed, and after a little carby fine tuning, it runs great!! Took it for a 75 mile ride, took a few pictures. I'll post them as soon as my gallery account is activated, unless there is a better way to post pictures??
Thanks for all the help Chris

Good to hear that the CDI solved the problem.
I use Photobucket for posting here.

Great to hear!
We have the same bike, sans forks. It looks like the same unit Melissann had. All 3 listed as X-Moto. Under load....mine runs GREAT! Snappy throttle....etc.... It's idle for me. It has an occassional bad miss. Sometimes it won't do it for days. Then.....it will miss at idle so bad it kills it. Did all the normal China bike fixes. Valves, plug, carb tweeking, breather, etc...etc... I have to nail this one down. Driving me nuts. Good luck and many happy miles!

I'm glad the new CDI unit fixed your problem! X3 on using Photobucket to post photos. You can learn how to post photos on these forums by reading the following thread.

Here is a picture of my bike, as promised on it's first maiden voyage. It rides very well, but it could stand to go a little faster, I got passed by a ratty old pickup. Is 55-60 mph out of the question? I replaced the stock sprocket with a 50 tooth one, and that helped, but it slows down going uphill, so I'm a little leery of going with a smaller sprocket. Chris 8O

Nice pic! Beautiful area. Anywhere near Middletown?
A 200cc Chinabike with a pushrod motor and an average sized rider, with optimum gearing is good for about 60 MPH on the flat. It will slow dramatically on hills or with a headwind. :? Mine was good for about 55-60 and I weigh 175 lbs. If you did a pipe and jet change you might be able to pull a higher gear. An alternative would be to jettison all extra weight, or both. Personally I'd just call it good and RIDE ON!!!!

Thanks for the reply Doc. Nowhere near Middletown, the pic was taken in Canajoharie, about 45 minutes west of Albany.
Guess I'll be riding on the best I can, I go about 230lbs, at 6'3", shedding extra weight isn't really an option. Maybe jetting and a little exhaust work is in my future. Chris
