Re: GY-5 front winkers

Here is what I did... Others here have done the same. Gonna do the rear ones soon.

I had to change the way the choke was mounted on the left side.

The right side was not a problem.

Looks better than it was

Do you guys know if these would work? (electrically speaking)
Or do the measurements just sound way too big?
Copy and paste this # in ebay.

Sure they will work, you just have to watch the watts for the bulb. Changing the bulb wattage will change how the turn signals operate {slower or faster} depending if the wattage is higher or lower. You may have to change the bulbs in the turn signals you purchase or the flasher relay. I hope this helps.

Helps, but opens another question.
What watts work for our "winkers"? What's the safe range?

Kinda off topic, but not too bad: I think the headlamp is 35W, how much brighter one can I put in there and still be OK?

Thanks all!

It's not what's a safe range, it has to do with what you buy and what watt bulb is in the ones you buy. All of the aftermarket lights on the market {all of them} have a certain wattage/candlepower bulb in them because the bulb is so close to the plastic lens. To high of a wattage bulb in a lot of these will melt the plastic. The higher the wattage/candlepower the hotter the bulb itself gets. You can put a higher wattage/candlepower bulb in some because the plastic cover is further away from the bulb, but be careful. You may also have to change the flasher relay due to this also. There are no books that have recommendations on this you just have to figure it out for yourself, as I do.

I run the 45W that's listed in the parts thread at the top and it's been fine for almost 3000 miles.
