Does the idle increase as the bike warms up? They don't like to go in gear if the engine is racing. Lots of these chinese machines come with the idle set very high.

It idles normal, in fact i was about to adjust it cause it would occasionally stall. I just put a new mikuni in it. Although the clutch is fully pressed

Have you tried synthetic oil?

10/40 atv oil for wet clutch virtually the same as 10/40 motorcycle oil

FINDING NUETRAL
I think the main thing is to have the idle as low as possible.. and then make sure you adjust the clutch right up to make sure when you depress the clutch ( to allow you to put it into gear) you have full travel.. no free play allowed.. and the better oil is better for it as well..

I believe that it's hard on the clutch to have no free play; I shoot for 1/8" to 1/4" at the perch per the manual.

I find with my girlfriends x31 it is very hard to find nuetral. You MUST have the bike rolling usually to get it to go. I usually rock it back and forth about a foot while lightly pressing up and she'll pop in.

There is no free play in my clutch, I fine adjusted it and with 1/8 " free play, in gear with clutch engaged it will take off.

clutch adjustment
take the lever off of the clutch rod on the motor... move it forward to allow you to move the clutch so you get extra travel.. you will see when you adjust the clutch cable at the motor as much as you can... and then adjust the hand clutch lever more.. you will be able to put the trans in gear with out the bike moving forward... this is the way the clutch has to be.. when clutch is applied... and gear selection is made... THE BIKE SHOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD... this is a must.. so adjust the clutch as needed.. there is nothing saying about free play.. they always say what I said in large letters.. this means the clutch is working as it should... you have to have so much travel to full release the clutch from the motor.. I do this to all my bikes and atv.s ( T3 ) and all works well.. excellent smooth shifting
